Set of 4 folding chairs. Selling as a group - possibility to split into pairs.
1920 - 40s steel and leatherette Art Deco folding chair. Manufactured by The Brewer Titchener Corp. out of Cortland, NY, USA. The brand is called BTC Hostess. The images show red and the original brown/beige. These modernist, prohibition era seats fold differently than anything you are used to. Instead of simply folding closed, the seat folds up towards the back, the back of the chair folds down into the seat, making them perfectly flat.
The Brewer-Titchener Corporation was founded in 1918 in Cortland, New York as a result of a merger between the Cortland Carriage Goods Company, Cortland Forging Company and Crandal-Stone Company. Its industry was industrial products and its headquarters remained in Cortland, New York today.
