With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century set of 6 antique Mahogany Irish Chippendale dining chairs. The set consists of 1 arm chair and 5 side chairs with blue leather seats. The chairs have pierced splats and are heavily carved with stylized acanthus leaves & other motifs. The chairs have molded seat boxes and carved stiles and truly are an impressive set. The chairs have finely formed acanthus carved legs and terminate in magnificently carved ball and claw feet. The arm chair is decorated with extremely rare carved phoenix heads on the arms with feather carvings and a center plume with almost snake like eyes. The side chairs measure 23\" wide x 22\" deep x 39\" tall with a seat height of 19 1/2\" tall. The arm chair measures 28 1/2\" wide arm to arm x 23\" deep x 40\" tall with a seat height of 18 3/4\" tall.
