The Cab Cowhide Side Chair was originally designed by Mario Bellini and introduced in 1977. It was the first chair of its kind to feature a free-standing leather structure, inspired by the relationship between the human skeleton and skin.
The Archetype Forms Cab Chair: Armless version\'s upholstery consists of 16 individual pieces of cowhide, die-cut and hand-processed before being sewn into a single piece. The cover is then fitted onto a tubular steel frame and secured with a zipper, akin to a custom-tailored garment.
