HOT ! Sunglass Chain - Turquoise & Gold

Our Handbeaded Sunglass Strand is crafted from high quality glass beads and strong cotton cord. This particular piece was handbeaded by Thokozane Mathe, one of our esteemed community mentors. Look closely and you’ll spot a delicate chain of daisies, intricately stitched into the design.

The Daisy Stitch holds a special place in our hearts as it’s a nostalgic nod to Durban in the ’90s, where local beaders lined the beachfront under thatched stalls, their vibrant creations swaying in the sea breeze. As a child, I’d spend hours wandering from one stall to the next, eating candyfloss, trying on mood rings, and getting my hair braided with beads by the Zulu mamas. Those who are from Durban will hopefully share this dreamlike nostalgia with us.
