This tiered, dramatic statement necklace features a central ladder design that supports multiple intricate strands of interlocking burgundy, copper and gray beadwork that surrounds 3 focal black labradorite stones. This necklace sure adds a “wow” factor to a special occasion outfit, an art gallery event, or a dinner date. Great with a charcoal, black, or burgundy v-neck or scoop neck top.
This design was inspired by Mughal artifacts. The name came from Gulbadan Begum, the daughter of the founder of the Mughal Empire. Princess Gulbadan was the only Mughal woman to write a memoir, where she chronicled her life. She was an iconoclast, as a woman who led a trip with other royal women to Mecca, where they braved thieves, inclement weather, and political unrest. She completed this religious pilgrimage, the Hajj, multiple times over her life.
