Curator\'s Notes 

The beautiful wood grain accentuates the tall stature of this slender column, perfect for various beverages and a touch of nature in your home. With elegant thin walls and a streamlined shape, it’s a piece that is functional enough for everyday casual occasions. 

Kami is a series of wooden drinking vessels and tableware made by master woodworker Takahashi Kougei from Hokkaido, Japan. Each of the pieces in the collection is handcrafted from Sen (castor aralia) trees using highly sophisticated woodturning techniques passed down for generations. The name Kami, means “paper” in Japanese in reference to the thin wall thickness and white tone of the wood.
