HOT ! 50s Open Toe Slingback Heels Vintage Shoes Carved Wood Trim Jacques Fath Paris VFG

A chic pair of vintage 1950s high heeled shoes, from Jacques Fath, the noted Parisian couturier. Fath was better known for his figure flattering French clothing line, with a special fondness for the hourglass figure. He was widely considered to be one of the three most influential designers in post WW2 France, along with Dior and Balmain. These heels would be perfect with a New Look 50s dress or suit, but would also compliment more modern styles. They are styled with a gently pleated toebox and a wide curvy open toe. The silhouette is similar to a mule or slide but they have a narrow slingback strap to keep them on your feet. The toe box is adorned by a narrow grooved wooden rod. The design is echoed by the curvy heels, also made of carved wood with the same groove pattern. The overall look is an intriguing blend of sophisticated and rustic.

MATERIALS/COLORS: Dark blue leather, lined in pale aqua leather. The soles appear to be leather with a smooth black surface.

CLOSURES: N/A, the slingback strap is elasticized at one end, attaching to the insole inside the shoe. 

CONDITION: No significant issues noted - no scuffs, tears or cracking. Outer soles are lightly worn. Each wooden heel has a slight change in color half way up, and my fingernail can detect a surface change there - I think there must be a wood join there. It feels perfectly sturdy and solid, no sign of weakness or wobble.
