About the Fabric

A new super soft leather look fabric with a terrific surface design of wax pull-up effect and weathered-time-embossed grain. The incredible leather hand feel is achieved through a micro denier polyester warp knit construction with innovative resin coating as a muscle layer. Athens is quite different from regular dry base and wet base PU. When we talk about hydrolysis, it\'s more for the foam layer than the resin/PU face like Athens. Regular PU contains certain % of calcium carbonate and pulp powder which are hydrolysable. The PU/resin we used for pattern Athens is not PU film or a foam layer, it\'s high purity resin liquid which roller coated to the dyed suede fabric tightly like a layer of glue film, then printed - bronzed two times with patterns, embossed slightly and washed to get the final look and hand. The resin (PU) content is about 4%, it won\'t peel with this material and coating/bronzing technique. Athens passes 30,000 double rubs.
