DETAILS
An antique, hand blown flip drinking glass tumbler with round tapering sides, engraved with Stiegel-type tulips. With a shallow domed lid, with applied teardrop-form finial. Rough pontil. A flip glass was traditionally used for serving a warmed cocktail called flip which was made with liquor, sugar, egg, and nutmeg. The ingredients were mixed, then poured back and forth or flipped between two glasses.
