There is little question that the finest St. Nicholas collectibles in the world today are being made by renowned German artist Werner Brauer. His facial sculpting as well as attention to details such as costuming and accessorizing make each of his hand-made St. Nicholas figures a true collector’s piece. For these reasons, Florence & George has commissioned Brauer to re-create this St Nicholas and Toy Cart which first appeared in a French toy catalog in 1895. Brauer’s St Nicholas stands 15” holding a fir Christmas tree in one hand and pushing a cart filled with traditional wooden toys. St Nicholas is also a candy container (the opening is concealed under his robe) and he even wears traditional wooden sabots. HO-237
